Author Interview with Judith Ann McDowell

Please help me welcome Judith Ann McDowell, author extraordinaire. I’ve read her first book in the Rougarou Series and was deeply impressed. I am so humbled to welcome her talent to my tiny blog. Did I mention that her book is going to be made into a movie?

How long have you been writing? About 20-years off and on.

How did you get started? Tell us about your journey to publishing.

Starting off  I published myself on Amazon, then Karen Fuller of World Castle Publishing read Rougarou—my dark werewolf thriller, liked what she read and published me.

Tell us about your book(s). What inspired you to write it/them?

One night I dreamed of a reincarnated Blackfoot girl named Tia and I got up that morning and began writing Long Ago Memories. Then later I found there was a lot more to the story so I wrote the prequel—Fated Memories. Fated Memories tells the story of Jesse Thornton, the beautiful only child of Eathen a very wealthy cattle baron, who falls in love with a handsome young Blackfoot Indian named Two Spirits in 1903 Montana.

When Jesse gets  into trouble,  her parents send her away to Boston. Too late they realize their mistake.

Long Ago Memories tells the story of Tia the beautiful daughter of Jesse and Two Spirits. While on a visit to the Thornton Ranch Tia comes across a drawing of a young Indian couple drawn many years ago. In the drawing she sees the face of a man who has haunted her dreams for as long as she can remember and the beautiful young girl standing by his side—looks just like her.

Rougarou: When Jonathan Hindel buys his beautiful Angelia-the issue of Monsieur Devereaux and his mulatto mistress from Devereaux’s embittered widow, he sees a chance to change the course of their destiny. All goes well until the night Angelia stumbles upon Jonathan in the throes of satisfying his lust and hunger on the body of a young girl from the bayous.

Jonathan Hindel has a dark secret;  Jonathan Hindel is a werewolf.

ROUGAROU IS THE BOOK THAT IS GOING TO BE MADE INTO A MOVIE AND HAS ALREADY BEEN ACCEPTED BY UNIVERSAL STUDIOS.

Rougarou II: WHEN THE SOUL IS SURROUNDED BY DARKNESS IT IS EASY TO LEAD THE WEAK ON A DOWNWARD SPIRAL, IT IS WHEN THE SOUL IS TOUCHED BY LIGHT ONE CAN PERCEIVE THE REAL FACE OF EVIL

A NEW FORCE HAS COME FORTH TO MAKE SURE THE HINDEL LEGACY REMAINS STRONG. AND WHO BETTER THAN SOMEONE WHOSE DARKNESS IS MORE EVIL THAN THAT OF HIS OWN SON?

ROUGAROU III THE DEVIL’S CHILD:

THE DEVIL’S CHILD WILL NEVER WANT, FOR THE ONE WHO SEES TO ITS NEEDS IS THE ONE WHO FED OFF ITS INNOCENCE.

AT  LONG  LAST LAWRENCE HINDEL HAS ALLOWED HIMSELF TO BECOME INTERESTED IN SOMEONE.  BUT HOW LONG CAN THIS NEW-FOUND LOVE LAST WHEN THE MAN OF HIS DREAMS LEARNS LAWRENCE IS A ROUGAROU?

“A chilling passage into the nether world for readers who explore the dark side of myth. –Ann Rule, Author of Fatal Friends, Deadly Neighbors and Don’t look Behind you.

THE HAY FORT:

LET ALL WHO KNOW THE NAME OF THE BEAST

GIVE UP HIS NAME

FOR HE WILL NOT HOLD BACK HIS WRATH

AGAINST A CHILD OF THE MOST HOLY.

SOMETIMES A PLACE CAN BE SO EVIL IT CAN LINGER IN THE MINDS OF THOSE WHO HAD THE MISFORTUNE TO WALK THROUH ITS DOORS YEARS EARLIER.

Blog Tour David R Bennett

Crimson Clan Tour Button

Author Interview

I see Destiny walking into the room with a huge grin on her face. I wonder what she is grinning

about. Undoubtedly, she’s here to interview me.

Destiny Phoenix: Tell me a little about yourself.

David R Bennett: Well, I am an author hailing from Spring, Texas just north of Houston. I was

raised here and here I still remain. Also, I am a husband and father of 1. I love the paranormal

works of fiction as well as sci-fi, fantasy, and mysteries. Well, mysteries are a part of most

novels written, in my opinion.

DP: David R Bennett is that pen name or your real name?

DRB: It is pen name that came about from the rearranging of my real initials. I’ve always liked

the name David and the last name Bennett seemed to have an ominous sound to it (probably

DP: How long have you been writing?

DRB: Probably my whole life in one fashion or another. I have always woven a tale or even

DP: What’s the hardest you find when creating your story?

DRB: Probably creating the background for the characters involved, if the first novel in a series.

Otherwise, the not knowing what’s going to happen to my characters.

DP: I assume that when you start you have some idea of what’s going on?

DRB: Rarely, unless I create a bunch of title names and create small blurbs for them. I did do

this for the Destiny Phoenix series. So I have a hint of what’s going to happen in the series.

Exactly how that all comes about is another thing entirely.

DP: Interesting. What method, if any, do you use to curb writer’s block?

DRB: I’ve talked with other authors about this same thing. And, like myself, quite a few feel that

having various projects running at the same time helps to prevent writer’s block. I have a highly

active imagination. Sometimes it’s hard to curb, so I always have more than one project going on

DP: What’s next on your plate?

DRB: Always love to share this part. Always promoting my latest work with those I know. Right

now, I am in the beginning of Alien in the Midst (a sci-fi story about an alien crash landing on

Earth), preparing to tackle Destiny Phoenix and the Cry of the Wolf, and starting Mind Games

about children who gain superpowers after being left for dead in car crash.

DP: Wow. That’s a lot on your plate. How long do you think that the Destiny Phoenix series is

DRB: At least twelve books from what I can figure. Possibly, most likely, more. As for my

others, who knows. Life is difficult and so is everything my characters will go through.

DP: Where does your inspiration come from?

DRB: My inspiration comes from multiple sources. I watch movies, TV, and read books. So

from all of that. And sometimes just right out of thin air on some things.

DP: What genre does your work fall under?

DRB: Trying for YA paranormal fiction. But, really, I try to make the books where everybody

will enjoy it. That was the mission of JK Rowling and I like it.

DP: What genres do you read?

DRB: I probably have something from most genres out there from YA to horror to mystery-

crime to action/adventure to fantasy to space operas to paranormal to sci-fi to romance. Mostly I

DP: Who is your favorite author?

DRB: There are several that have inspired me over the years Margaret Weiss and Tracy

Hickman (Dragonlance series), Michael Stackpole, Timothy Zahn, Stephanie Meyer, JK

Rowling, and even a few contemporaries of mine such as Ann Snizek, Michael Knight, and

DP: What advice, tips, do you have for others getting into the business of writing?

DRB: Write what you want to read, not because it’s the in thing. And use the social media as you

marketing tool and networking with other authors. And, above all, of course, write, write, write

until your story ends. That is the main thing before publishing your work.

photoExcerpt of The Crimson Clan

“I hope it won’t take too long to find, Sandra,” Destiny says.

“That depends on the power of Sandy’s cell, Des.” Chris mutters. “Try calling her.”

I do as my hunky boyfriend suggests. I dial Sandra’s phone on my brother’s cell.

“Hello?” I hear from the other side of the phone with some panting in between the words.

Quickly, she seems to stop. “Destiny?”

“Yeah, Sandra,” I say. I can hear her gasping for breath. “Where are you?”

“What the hell is going on?” She screams into the phone frantically.

“We’re on the way to pick you up.”

“Can you kinda hurry,” Sandra asks me. “I’ve got these weird pasty freaks on my tail. For

what? I don’t know.”

“Pasty freaks?” I say aloud. That’s when I hear Brandon mutter some curse word and floor

the gas pedal.

“Where are you at?”

“Near the Dillard’s entrance by Four Oaks Drive.”

“Okay, Sandra. Stay calm. We’ll be there in five. Meet us at the west entrance of Dillard’s.”

“All right. Hurry.” I hear the panic in Sandra’s voice.

“Stay calm and peruse the store not to give any suspicions to the workers.”

“K. See ya soon.”

“Certainly.” I say hanging up the phone.

“Destiny, what’s going on?” Chris asks me as I can see the worry in his face. “Are the same

ones after Sandy that invaded my home?”

“The exact same creatures. They want us. You, me, Brandon, and Sandra. They don’t know

about Little Michelle here. Let’s keep it that way.”

“Why?”

“We’re the chosen slayers to bring balance back to this world,” Brandon states. “I was sent to

a boarding school for my protection when I was nine just after the birth of Destiny.”

“That sucks, bro.” Chris says as we reach the Mall.

It did not take us long to figure out where Sandra was. People were rushing out the doors of

Dillard’s in fear. Obviously, these pasty creatures were in the store and have yet to find Sandra.

However, we spot Sandra easily. She managed to mix in with the crowd that rushed out of

the store. We screech to a halt. Brandon pops open the back door for Sandra to jump in.

“Sandy, get in,” Brandon says to his sister.

“Your car?”

“Forget it. We can come back for it.”

The dark haired brown-eyed best friend of mine, who stands at five-foot- four, an inch

shorter than me, hurriedly, gets into the Tahoe. Sandra, quickly, jumps in and shuts the door.

“Chris, Miki, what’s going on?” She says trying to catch her breath.

The white pasty creatures see us peel out around the Mall ring road as we make our escape

after helping Sandra out.

“Hang on!” Brandon screams as one of the wraiths jumps out in front of our car. We run over

it leaving a partially body badly squished all over the road.

“I’ve only heard if these guys before,” Brandon tells us. “I don’t know how to defeat them.”

“Oh, great, we’re screwed,” Chris mutters.

He, then, gets slapped on the shoulder as their little sister sits zoned out holding her legs.

Michelle is totally out of it. This is out of her level of comprehension. Or so I thought.

“Don’t worry, I know to defeat these wraiths.” I calmly, and confidently, say. Where did that

come from?
David R BennettDavid R Bennett is an author from Spring, Texas in the

United States of America. He lives with his wife, Brandy, and

his son, Ethan.

David R Bennett is a pen name that comes the reordering of his

initials real initials. He, also, thinks the name has a ring to it.

Not only is he an author, he also is an illustrator. His real

name is what is credited with the cover art to his novels.

He attended Rocky Mountain College if Art + Design in Denver, Colorado where he

earned a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Advertising Graphic Design. The graphic design techniques

he learned in college he uses to design his covers.

He, also, reads a lot of sci-fi / fantasy / paranormal books. Some of his favorite monsters

are vampires, mummies, zombies, goblins, ghouls, werewolves, etc. He has plans to write a long

string of novels in the Destiny Phoenix series and a series about an alien coming to Earth in the

Alien Survivor series. Both of these series are planned as Young Adult novels.

His favorite horror flick is Resident Evil because it is scary to think that biological

warfare could one day result in human extinction by undead creatures. And his favorite series of

films is Star Wars and is excited about the next film coming out in 2015.

Book Review: Rougarou by Judith Ann McDowell

I really enjoyed this book for many reasons. The interaction between the characters was extremely realistic, especially the down to earth dialogue between characters, which often read the way I thought a real person would speak. I love the fact that the antagonist is a werewolf and while you do get a description of him from time to time, you also are allowed to imagine him the way you want to. This is no fluffy werewolf either, it’s the rip your throat out, chew your bones and guts kind, you know the kind that used to keep us awake at night.

The good guys, Jack and Donavan are both extremely likable. You get a good taste of their background stories and that really helps you relate to them. I also like how Jonathan Hindle, the bad guy/werewolf, has enough of a background that fleshes him out enough to feel sorry for him. Sure, he is a werewolf that preys on those that cannot defend themselves, but once upon a time he wanted to be a better person and that totally shows a redeeming part of him, which is very important for villains in any story.

This is an action packed story from start to finish. If you like a good thriller, you will not be disappointed by Rougarou at all. Magic, mystery, ghosts, werewolves, and bloody mayhem!

Welcome Author Tony-Paul de Vissage

BWF400x600 copy 5 Clancover4-001 Copy of Front Cover02 TheNightManCometh_C_Front

How long have you been writing?

Since the day someone put a pencil in my hand, which was around age 5, I think.

How did you get started? Tell us about your journey to publishing.

My father introduced me to comic books when I was about six. He allowed me to sit and read them at the table while he sat across me from me and read them upside-down.  He read them to me at night, doing all the voices and narrations, and I tried to draw my own. My mother had a friend who was an x-ray tech and she’d give me the long, yellow papers that were put between x-ray films when they were boxed.  I used those to make my own comics and it was a short step from there to writing my own books.

During study hall, I wrote stories when I was supposed to be doing homework. In high school, I wrote for the school newspaper and  for the newspaper and magazine in college, and finally, when I was an actual adult and out in the Big Bad World, I began writing in earnest. I kept sending in submissions until one of them didn’t come back and a contract arrived in its place.

That story was my novella Vampires are Forever, published by Class Act Books two years ago.

Tell us about your book(s). What inspired you to write it/them?

My current novel is called The Clan Andriescu. It’s a collection of short stories about a family of exiled vampires who meet a young boy named Tony-Paul on a Savannah, GA beach and tell him their story. There are three of them and each story narrates what happened to that particular family member.

What inspires you to write? Do you have a particular song or mood that carries you through?

I get inspired by  all kinds of things…a sound, a phrase, the way a shadow looks as the light shines through my bedroom window and touches the wall…

Who is your favorite character and why?

I guess my favorite character that I myself have created would be Marek Strigoi, ghidaj (leader) of the Strigoisti or the Shadow Clan of vampires. He’s the main character in my series The Second Species which is scheduled for release by Double Dragon Publishing. I just turned in the first edits this week, in fact.

What made you decide to write a book?

As Mr. Spock’s father said, “At the time it seemed like the thing to do.” I don’t think I had much choice in the matter. If you’re a writer, you have to write. I recognized that fact and accepted the challenge.

Who are the writers who inspire you the most?

Jim Bucher, JR Ward, Bram Stoker, Anne Rice

Where do you get your inspiration?

Just about anywhere. All I have to do is use a little imagination.

Childhood Memories

Which cereal do you remember for breakfast?

Hey, I’m a Southerner! I have grits for breakfast! With lots of butter and a side order of cheese toast.

What is your favorite childhood cartoon character and why?

When I was small, it was Tom & Jerry. Now, it’s Archer.

Favorite super hero?

Then, Superman. Now…Wolverine.

What is the first movie that you saw in a movie theatre?

It was called Deadman’s Eyes with Lon Chaney, Jr. It was made in 1945 but I saw it many, many years later at an art revival theater when I was around 6.  My mother was definitely NOT a censor when it came to dragging me at a very young age to questionable movies. It was about cornea transplants which tells you how long they’ve been doing those.

Favorite TV show from younger years?

Star Trek (any series) and Firefly. Looking forward to NBC’s Dracula series this Fall, too.

In your Easter Eggs did you prefer candy or money? Or were yours hard boiled?

Candy.  Cadbury’s chocolate. I prefer my boiled eggs deviled.

Did you have a childhood pet?

I’ve always had pets. Cameleons…June bugs tied on a string…turtles..cats…dogs…horses. Can horses be called pets? For years, we had Alsatian shepherds which we’d been misleadingly told were border collies. It was years before we found out otherwise.  Later, we switched to poodles.  My favorite childhood pet was an Alsatian named Chippewa. My favorite pet as an adult was a miniature poodle named Conan the Barkbarian who thought he was a Yorkie.

Tell us about your favorite teacher

He name was Lucille Comer. She was my 7th grade teacher and she encouraged every child in her class to express themselves through writing. Every week we had a day when we could read something we’d written. I invariably went in for mysteries though once I actually wrote a vampire-themed story whose heroine was named Batavia.

Just for fun

Are you a night owl or early bird? What time of the day works best for your muse?

Oh night, definitely.  Both my muse and I believe any hour before 3 in the afternoon should be outlawed.

If you were an animal what would you be and why?

Difficult choice…may I get back to you on that one?

Favorites: color, food, season, music, movies, books.

Color: Burgundy

Food: Boiled peanuts (Did I mention I’m a Southerner?)

Season: Late Spring when the weather’s cool at night and not too hot during the day and the flowers are beginning to bloom. Nothing like a spring Southern night with a breeze blowing the smell of honeysuckle through the bedroom window.

Music: Anything by Beethoven

Movies: Anything with vampires, satire, or explosions. If it’s got vampires, satire, and explosions all in one film, that’s even better!

BLURB:

The Clan Andriescu…

MARIUS…He can’t understand why the woman he loved in 1968 doesn’t want to re-ignite their affair in 2013…

Marius dropped onto it and waited. For a few moments, she just sat there, studying her hands, quite a different woman from the self-possessed Southern lady who’d hosted the gathering only a few minutes earlier.

Silently, he studied her face. The blonde hair was now almost white, a lustrous gleaming under the incandescent lights of the sitting room. She wore it at the nape of her neck, an elaborate twist of a platinum chignon. The body under the sky-blue crepe gown was thicker, shorter than the slender girl he’d known in Paris, her face finely-creased, skin soft with crepe-like wrinkles and crow’s-feet.

Marius didn’t care. All he saw was Caitlin…his Caity…the girl he’d run away from forty-five years before because he’d begun to care too much.

VALERIUS… Ordered to marry, Val makes the wrong choice. Aneke’s all he wants but she’s human…all right to bite but not to marry…

Val liked America, its style, its joie de vivre, its élan, and especially the fervent vitality of its young people. Yes, indeed, he like living la vida American, and he was quite ready to continue that course for the rest of his immortal life…

…and then big brother put the kibosh on his plan.

“I’m not ready to get married,” Val protested.

“You’re nearly three hundred and twelve,” Marius answered calmly. “You should have all your wild oats out of your system by now.”

Damn it, I’m not ready. I’ve still got a couple of handfuls of wild oats to be tossed about. Val wanted to argue, but he knew there was no use. The Head of the House had spoken. He had to obey.

COUSIN TIMON…being married to the most famous writer of vampire novels since Anne Rich can be exciting, until Laura writes an expose proving vampires are real.

The studied him as he walked toward her with the most graceful stride she’d even seen in a man. He moved like a dancer. Writer’s imagination briefly overcame her concern. Slender, not much taller than she, his most arresting feature, other than that statue-perfect face, was his hair. It was silky and pale ash-blond, hanging in a thick fall past his shoulder blades. Handsome. A miniature Apollo.

Mary Ting’s Blog Tour

Crossroads Blog Tour BannerThe Wonderful Mary Ting, Young Adult Author Extraordinaire!~

I have a special place in my heart for the wonderful Mary Ting. She has created such wonderful works that any young adult would love to read. In fact, I will definitely introduce my girls to her Crossroads Saga when they are young adults. Crossroads(Book 1), Between(Book 2) and Beyond(Book 3) are fast reads that will keep you emotionally involved from the beginning. Romantically sweet with adventure and challenge, these books have it all! Today wraps up her tour, so I am reposting an interview that I did recently with Mary. Please check out her author links at the bottom of the page.

1. If you could meet up & chat with one author who would it be and why?

It would have to be Stephenie Meyer because she wrote Twilight based on her dream.  Crossroads is also based on a couple of dreams I had in high school.  She was one of my inspirations to write this book.

2. How long of a process is writing a book? (you can talk about the challenges of getting a book published here if you would like 😉 lol

Ahhh!!!  I say this in a good and bad way.  First, it was so much fun writing about these characters, and many characters are based on people I know.  In some ways, Claudia is a lot like me, so her character was easy to write.  There was one time when I wiped out the last five chapters because my friend thought I could do better.  I’m glad she told me I could, but deleting those chapters brought me to tears. Then there is re-reading, re-writing and re-editing.  Let me just say that I found a new profound respect for authors.
3. Did you always want to become a writer?

Never in my wildest dreams did I ever thought about becoming a writer.  To tell you the truth, I didn’t really enjoy reading.  I read because I had to.  Not until I became a teacher did I find reading truly enjoyable.  I started writing because it was a way for me to heal from the death of my grandmother.  She is also a character in my story-Gamma J.

4. What were some of your “inspirations” for writing this novel

One of my inspirations for writing this novel was my grandmother.  Writing was a way for me to heal.  Another inspiration was my dreams I had in high school.   I can vividly recall all the details of them, which comprises chapter one and two.

5. What do you enjoy doing in your free time?

Besides spending time with my hubby and my two children, I enjoy shopping, watching movies, oil painting and making jewelries.  I also enjoy reading young adult novels.  They help me escape the stress of everyday life.
6. Which character in Crossroads was the most fun for you to write?

It’s difficult to say because many of the characters are based on people I know.  But I can narrow it down to two characters, Claudia and Michael.  Claudia’s character is based on me and my experiences.  The first car, the first job, camping, and yes…I was very sheltered…lol!!!  Michael is also somewhat based on my husband, the protector and romantic. I especially had fun writing about them being together and the chemistry of getting to know each other, knowing that they didn’t have that much time.

7. The end of Crossroads book there is a tiny snippet into the next book, can you give us a fun little spoiler about that next book?

Austin plays a bigger role and there are more angels on earth.  I just finished up to chapter ten.  It’s still a rough draft but here are some teasers that I have not shared with anyone yet.

“I give you my soul . . . willingly upon thee,” Claudia said reluctantly, as tears streamed down her face.  Aliah gave a deceiving smile and placed his left hand behind her back as if to give her a hug and with the other hand, drove his sword straight into her heart.

“Love doesn’t just go away that easily.  It clings to your heart.  It goes with you wherever you go, even if you don’t want it to.  Love is like the ocean.  Sometimes it’s smooth and sometimes it’s rough, but it’s constant, it never dries out,” I stated, hoping this kind of love is not what he felt for her.  I love you, not her,” he said, inching his way toward me.

Mary Ting resides in Southern California with her husband and two children. She enjoys oil painting and making jewelry.  Writing Crossroads was a way to grieve the death of her beloved grandmother.  It was inspired by a dream she once had as a young girl.

Blog Tour for Kathi Barton

Kathi's Blog tourToday we are celebrating with Kathi Barton and her new release Son of Our Blood.

Mac McManus has everything going for him, but he doesn’t see it that way. All he sees is his limitations. Like his father, Aaron, he is a vampire—forced into the darkness and to sustain himself on blood. He hates himself for what he has become and would rather meet the sun than remain immortal as a vampire or drink from another. It’s not anything he wants his family to know about. He strikes a bargain with his aunt, the Queen, to get what he wants—an end to his suffering. In the bargain he must save a woman, his mate, from another vampire, Zachariah Roberts, a murdering fiend that has been plaguing Mac’s dreams since he turned. But the woman he must save, the one the Queen is making him save has turned out to be more than he bargained for. More than he ever wanted.

Brandi Daniel, Andi to her friends, has been on the run for years. Never staying in any one place long, she has managed to stay just one step ahead of her step-father—a cruel man with a nasty temper. Andi has a talent of her own. She can move things with her mind and her step-father thinks he can sell her to a science lab for a quick buck.

Andi is caught squatting on Bradley Wolf’s land and is given an ultimatum. She can work off the debt or spend a few days in jail. She figures she’ll make a quick buck and leave before her step-father finds her. She has learned to rely only on herself and isn’t bargaining for a gorgeous overbearing vampire, Mac, stepping in and dictating her every move. A man who can and will fulfill her every fantasy and desire…

Mac’s dreams of Zachariah have gotten worse and he knows that Andi is foretold to be one of his victims, but the danged woman won’t stay put. The entire Kiss is banding together to keep Andi safe and it pisses her off in the process. Will an entire Kiss of vampires and an entire pack of werewolves be enough to protect one stubborn human? Has Mac found a new purpose in life? Will either of them live long enough to find out?

Interview with Kathi Barton

1. What is your favorite genre to read? Do you even have time to read with all the
time you spend creating entertainment for the rest of us? I don’t really read all that
much anymore. And when I do, it’s usually a short story or something I find on
the internet. I wish I had more time but I’m having so much fun as an author that
I can’t seem to pull myself away from the computer long enough to do it. I’ve
nearly given up tv for writing.

2. Do you have a favorite author? That would be like asking me to pick out a
favorite snowflake. Oh my there are so many out there now that I can’t pick.
When I can read a book I have no favorite gene so to name any would leave out a
great many. I’ll just stick to everyone. How’s that?

3. How long have you been writing romance novels? Just a little under four years.
I know right? I have a very good muse and he keeps me busy thus having so
many books out. I have a different writing skill than most. I write more than one
book at a time and many different genre’s.

4. What inspires your creativity? My muse. Sometimes it’ll be something so simple
as a word. Sometimes it will be from something I see someone doing. It could be
a flower or a tattoo as well. Anything and everything brings a little bit of my story
writing to life. And I’m glad for it too.

5. What has been your biggest challenge as a writer? Not really as a writer but being
a writer. I still have a problem with my fans. Not with them but that I have so
many. There are still times when I am surprised when someone recognizes my
name or simply sees me with one of my books. Yes, I carry them around at times
to give away. lol. But to see people reading them…still takes my breath away.

6. If you could be an extra character in any one of your books, which book would it be
and what would your role be in that book? Not the character but to be able to be
with one of them. Duncan. I just love that guy. He cracks me up with the way
he messes up some of his words but his devotion to Aaron and especially Sara
blows me away. I think I’d like to spend a life time with him.

Kathi Barton has donated an e-book copy of Force of Nature. She has a fantastic new book out as well, which I will be featuring May 7th with an author interview. Kathi is also giving away a bookmark and button.

Book Blurb: CJ’s father, Charles Webber, had been a real bastard all her life. And when her mom died he’d told her that without Becky there to make him acknowledge CJ as his daughter, he was finished with her and she was never to darken his door again. The slap that bloodied her mouth at her mom’s funeral had been more than enough to make his point. So she didn’t, not even to come home to his funeral

Austin Force wanted the property that the prick Webber owned. He wanted it for his pack and the house for his mom to call hers. But Webber dying had him dancing a jig and contacting the lawyer to make an offer. But finding that the man had a daughter and that she was his mate had Austin at his wits end.

Austin didn’t want to be impressed by her. He didn’t want to like her. He wanted her to obey him, whelp a few pups so she wouldn’t be bored and run his house for him. CJ wanted to do as she please which included maybe murdering the Alpha in his sleep. The two of them coming together is wonderfully steamy and sarcastic wit. Austin and CJ will make great alpha’s…or will they?

Eric Johnston has donated e-book copies of An Inner Darkness, A Light in the Dark, and Children of Time (new release) by Eric Johnston

Book Blurb An Inner Darkness: Noremway Parish, founded 2,000 years ago by the Great Savior Ragas Moliere, is the last bastion of humanity after the war with the demons known as the Darkness. The continued existence of Noremway Parish is imperative to the survival of the human race.

A Forbidden Love

Teret Finley never thought she’d have children. When she took the oath to become parochial vicar, the keeper and teacher of the histories of Noremway Parish, she took an oath of celibacy, but that all changes when a pair of conjoined twins mysteriously appears in the parish cathedral. She becomes a mother to them, and with the help of the parish friar, Decon Mangler, gives them love and warmth.

Rumors begin spreading throughout the parish, rumors that could undermine their entire way of life as Decon and Teret grow close. Is Teret breaking her oath by caring for these children with Decon? There is one person who will stop at nothing until she finds out—Rita Morgan, the parish gossip.

The recent death of Mayor Tomias Waterman has sent the parish leadership into turmoil, and the sheriff, Franz Phoenix, has seized control, using Rita as his lap dog. He finds amusement in her gossiping ways, and puts her to use to tear down Decon and Teret, destroying the foundations of the society, and making room for his own brand of moral corruption.

Can Decon and Teret’s love survive? And if they are found guilty of crimes against society, what will happen to the twins?

Book Blurb: A Light in the Dark: Eighteen years after the events in An Inner Darkness, the twins, separated by time and distance, yearn for something missing in their lives. Julian studies hard to become a friar, while Gaylen, banished to a desert wasteland, determines to stop at nothing until he is again attached to his brother. Julian cannot remember Gaylen, and the people of Noremway Parish have done all they could to ensure he never learns about him.

Julian must confront a mystery after he finds a copy of The Book of Ragas, a culmination of all the history and moral teachings of Noremway Parish, hidden away on a bookshelf in the mayor’s house. Why had he been told all copies were destroyed nearly twenty years ago?

The mystery builds as he finds evidence that both Teret Finley and Decon Mangler are both alive despite Franz Phoenix’s claims that both of them are dead.

Julian quickly finds himself at the center of a 2,000-year-old war, and the only chance he has at survival is a willingness to challenge what he’d grown up believing.

She wants to know what’s going on and she’s willing to pay big bucks for the information.

Sam travels to the Windy City and looks up his longtime friend, Harry Blevins, journalist for the Chicago Tribune. With Harry’s assistance, and with the inadvertent ramblings of his grandmother, will Sam be able to put all the pieces together to solve what is happening within the walls of the Whitaker Estate to stop a murder plot? The deeper Sam digs into the case, he uncovers more twists. Does Sam find a method to this madness?
